Sweet Child of Mine

As early as 10am,we start our day with climbing at Batu Caves. Beautiful Sunday morning for some extreme sweating. Very few people that morning, so the rock are ours! Rosli lead the way to my project route and I did it - twice !!! Joining us another two new gurls who eventually came to Batu Caves for climbing and they are lucky to met us.
Still early for a break ... Wan still MIA, so Rosli have to lead again. Abg Yin and few local kids head to the cave for some summer cleaning project.
Wan finally arrived around noon, and lets head to Red Rock just 5 minutes walk from Damai. Reminder, dont park your car at Red Rock. Someone might break into your car. Park at Damai and breeze walk to Red Rock.
Tomodachi [6B] is not in my list for the moment. Too many technical moves here, Im not ready for that yet. So as it is, this is Rosli's project route.
After Tomodachi, next route is the Sweet Child Of Mine [Wan's project route to lead]. He did not manage to clean the route. He wore his old climbing slippers, because his Mad Rock Hooker is stolen and yet he get burnt during fall. It is not as easy as you see ... Nasa came by that evening and help us clean the route. He then climb up the Black Brothers [6B+] and change the old rusted anchor. Thanx man for doing the favor.
Back to Damai and join the others climbers, mostly from MMU Cyberjaya there.

Lazy Saturday
Its was past after 3pm that afternoon when we start climbing. There I met my old MMU colleagues, Chaun with his girlfriend and other companion climbing at Damai. Wan set another route for me, then he himself climb up 6A the one beside monsoon. I managed to settle my new route ... How contra is my red key look on the rocks!!
These route, I will conquer it one day. Finished up all 5C's top rope, clean and lead ... Then move on to next rank. I will conquer you damn Rocks!!!
A night @ Setanding Camp
Climbing during the day, lets camping during the night. Setanding Camp at Sungai Pisang, Gombak. It was my first time there, a 5 minute walked from the road. 11pm and my stomach are crying to be fed. Start-up the fire, and lets start with the cooking. Instant lamb and chicken from nearby Giant hypermarket( no time to marinate, after all it was a very last minute plan! ), homemade fried rice (yummy!!!) and a almost burnt jacket potatoes.
Full stomach, and tired me! Set up the hammock, take out my sleeping bag and Im sailling into SweetDreamLands.
Jinx Sunday
1000 hours and its time to dip my toes into the icy river by the side of the camp. Im used to cold water, but not to cool air! Refreshed and lets leave Setanding camp, Batu Caves here we come.
Something bad, really really bad happened ... refuse to write here, beside it was indeed a 'What a Lurvely Holiday' aight?
The yellow theme day, except me. My tense is high, 9/10 ... and I channeled those high energy to a good used. Finished my project route ( that was my 4th attempt ), I can actually kissed the anchor above! Felt so good yet still jinx.
Rosli brought his client - Sue together with him today. A weird way to entertain your client, huh? We've heard about golfing all the time, but this is rock climbing dude! So Rosli, ... was it RM9 or RM8 deal if she manage to clean 6A?

DAY ONE
Clear the path, for me to walk thru. At first I thought I wanna climb up halfway myself and start capturing some nice moves of others climber. There was a shortcut of course ... Walked up thru the bushes, and strapped myself to a tree for safety, and Im ready ....
There was Rosli, Wan, Nuar, Joe, Apis, Thoi and me ... A day @ Damai for us. As usual, Wan will lead the way up and abseil himself down. Route Man ( that what I was told, was it 6A?! ) is not difficult at starting, but it will when come to over-hang part (halfway up) and upwards. Dont forget, Im still strapped to the tree!! My turn, and I did halfway ... just like the other 2 of us.
Move on to the next route, Monsoon. Wan take the lead, top-rope -- Rosli and Joe. Me? Trying at my route project, still 5C of course and still remain a route project...

Its when I heard the bike vendor bell ringing at the car park area ... and I want my cendol!!!

DAY TWO
A day we spent at Red Rock (just a few minutes walk from Damai ) and the Cave. We are the second crowd there... obviously we are late, 11am!! All geared up and lets start climbing some rocks!
Tomodachi route 6B and the Black Brothers 6B+ ... a day spent with my SLR, and no climbing for me. Sob sob sob~~~

sign in 9am, Thursday 31/11/2006 ... sign out 9am, Friday 01/12/2006 ... that happened when whole production line is targetted to finished in 2 weeks time.
I sat by the lake as the sun rises... Felt the warmth touching my skin ... refreshed
